An exhibit of antique kitchen tools
This exhibit explores the long history of kitchen tools with an emphasis on the early 20th century. Although humans have been using kitchen utensils for nearly three million years, the late 19th century and throughout the 20th century we witnessed more specialization, mass production and distribution. Items on display in this exhibit include various tools and containers for milk and also milk products, such as cheese graters and containers. Home baking was important and so were the tools that made this chore easier: various apple peelers and apple corers, flour sifters, rolling pins, and baking tins. So much to see!
