Fred Culbert, President, is the consummate community volunteer, serving on the Board of the Springfield Historical Society and, for many years, as Councilman on the Springfield Town Board. In the past, Mr. Culbert has also served on the Springfield Library Board and the Springfield Cemetery Board. A retired school administrator with two Master’s Degrees, Fred Culbert brings his organizational skills and knowledge of history to this position.

Maureen Culbert serves as Vice President of the Springfield Historical Society and Chair of the Programming Committee, coordinating speakers and exhibits and field trips for our membership. Culbert holds a Master’s Degree in Education and her life as a teacher has prepared her to lead our organization in multiple ways. In addition to educational programming, Ms. Culbert is knowledgeable in archival matters and has worked to stabilize the collections.
Suzanne Goodrich, Secretary

Suzanne Goodrich is the Secretary of the Springfield Historical Society, having previously served as Secretary on the Springfield Library Board for many years. Ms. Goodrich is a retired college professor who brings much appreciated organizational and computer skills to the management of the Springfield Historical Society’s collections.
Mary Ellen Calta, Treasurer

Mary Ellen Calta, retired Co-owner and Agent/Broker of an independent insurance agency, serves as Treasurer of the Springfield Historical Society. She also serves on the Finance Committee of the Master Gardeners at the Otsego County Cornell Cooperative Extension. Ms. Calta is a Master Gardener and Helpline volunteer at the Extension. She was the Treasurer of the New York State Federation of Garden Clubs and a member for 20 years.
Nancy Einreinhofer

As the retired Director of the University Galleries at William Paterson University of New Jersey, Nancy Einreinhofer has many years experience as an art curator and in grant development. Dr. Einreinhofer holds a PhD in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, England. In addition to her administrative position, she taught curatorial studies and art history at the University.
Barbara Chamberlain, Trustee

Barbara Chamberlain is a retired elementary school teacher. She also taught special education through BOCES and was Chair of the Cooperstown Committee on Special Education. Barbara holds a BA in elementary education from SUNY, Oneonta, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Syracuse University. A resident of Springfield, Ms. Chamberlain volunteers at the Historical Society organizing files and working on various archival projects.
